The government’s scheme to boost investments and revive the economy has so far helped save 120,000 jobs, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said on Facebook on Wednesday.

Péter Szijjártó said that 646 companies out of 806 bidders have now received grants totalling 146 billion forints (EUR 418 million), adding that the combined value of government-assisted projects was over 300 billion forints.

The minister said that the programme will increase the participants’ competitiveness in the long term, and help the Hungarian economy return to pre-pandemic levels.

Szijjártó also said that new projects in Nyíradony (NE) and Miskolc (N) will soon be announced.
