Rights and obligations

Act CXXI of 1999 on economic chambers lays down a set of rights and obligations for both enterprises and economic chambers.*

Enterprises (both individual and corporate enterprises) must:

  • apply for chamber registration.
  • pay an annual contribution to the public duties of chambers for the benefit of the regional

chamber keeping the register (until 31 March in the given year).

Enterprises (both individual and corporate enterprises) must:

  • apply for chamber registration.
  • pay an annual contribution to the public duties of chambers for the benefit of the regional

chamber keeping the register (until 31 March in the given year).

Voluntary members may deduct their contributions from their membership fees.

Chambers must:

  • issue a certificate as proof of contribution payment.
  • provide enterprises with their statutory services for free (giving economic, financial, tax, and borrowing advice; seeking business partners and tender monitoring).

*The Act does not apply to agriculture. Likewise, private veterinaries, lawyers, individual patent administrators, notaries public and individual court bailiffs need not apply for registration.
