Half of Hungarian Companies Plan to Expand Workforce in 2025
Hungarian employers remain optimistic about their business outlook for 2025, with nearly half planning to expand their workforce this year according to a survey conducted by job portal Profession.hu.
The survey noted that 43% of companies expect an improvement in their financial situation, while 34% anticipate stability. As a result, 48% of businesses plan to increase their headcount to support growth.
“In September, Hungarian companies expressed a confident outlook for the future, and this optimism has persisted. Employers remain positive about both their economic prospects and workforce expansion plans,” said Blanka Dencső, market research and business development expert at Profession.hu. “At the start of the year, four to five out of ten companies predicted business and staffing growth, three to four expected stability, and only one forecasted a decline.”
Hiring Processes to Become More Efficient
Despite a stable recruitment budget, companies are looking to optimize their hiring processes. According to the survey, 21% of employers plan to expand their recruitment tools, while 74% will continue using their existing methods. In terms of human resources, 81% of companies expect no change in the number of employees dedicated to recruitment and selection.
The survey also indicates that businesses anticipate a more dynamic job market, with fewer employers expecting prolonged vacancies. Some 15% of companies are even more optimistic, believing that they will be able to fill positions faster than in previous years.
Where Are Companies Looking for Talent?
Job portals continue to dominate recruitment strategies, with 86% of companies relying on these platforms to find new employees. Additionally, networking and employee referrals play a significant role, as half of the surveyed businesses plan to seek candidates through recommendations.
When selecting recruitment channels, employers prioritize quality and efficiency. “Beyond saving time and costs, HR professionals focus on how well a given tool can target the right candidates. Precise, targeted communication significantly shortens hiring timelines, ultimately saving businesses both human and financial resources. This is why strategic planning, timing, and tool selection are essential,” Dencső Blanka emphasized.
The research also found that four out of 10 companies regularly measure the performance of their job postings to enhance recruitment efficiency.
