NMHH: Majority of Young Hungarians Welcome Emergence of AI
The National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH) has carried out a study surveying the views of 13-16-year-olds on AI and AI-generated content, the authority’s communications directorate said on Tuesday (22/04).
The survey of 1,197 young Hungarians conducted last autumn found that 76.5% of them have experience with using some kind of AI-based program.
Fully 71.3% said they have used AI to help them with school assignments.
The majority of respondents said AI was useful to humans, with 50.6% saying they have encountered content that they did not realise was AI-generated.
According to the study, a significant share of children did not recognise AI-generated content despite saying they tended to.
The NMHH said that whereas in international comparisons, respondents to similar surveys tend to identify security risks as the number one concern when it comes to AI, Hungarian respondents say the possibility of job losses (29.6%) and the loss of human relationships (23.6%) were their biggest concerns.
